There is actually a winter in Lake Lure, NC.  Even though we are located in an isothermal zone that allows us to have more moderate weather, we do have frost and sometimes even snow and ice.  While we have only had a scattering of snow this season, we usually do not worry about it.  As many say around here, you do not need a snow shovel, just wait until the sun comes out and the snow will be gone.

I moved here from Chicago about 8 years ago and this past weekend just realized how accustomed I have become to the Lake Lure winters.  I went to Michigan for 4 days to visit family and the temperature was four degrees below zero.   Oh boy, what a shock.  It was so good to get back to Lake Lure.
