Lake Lure - Mother Nature's Last Winter Joke
April 8th, 2009 10:37 AM

On Saturday and Sunday we cruised around Lake Lure in our pontoon boat enjoying the wonderful sunny weather.  We even saw a couple of people water skiing.   Finally, or so we thought, summer is on it's way.  To even confirm this more, I saw my first hummingbird on Sunday.  Every year I anxiously await the arrival of the hummingbirds to signal that summer is truly on its way.

Well, by Monday night it started to get colder, by Tuesday we had snow flurries and Tuesday night the temperature dropped down to 29 degrees.  Thankfully Lake Lure is in an isothermal zone and we avoided getting any accumulation of snow and all our plants survived.

One good thing about the Lake Lure area is bad weather does not last for long.  Today is Wednesday, the sun is shining and the weather is getting warmer again.

Lake Lure is a great place to live or have a second home.  If you would like to see what real estate is availabe just contact me at 828-447-0147 or ksamborski2@att.net    Now is a great time to buy land to build on, or even a sencond home or condo.  We've got some good deals available.

Have a great Spring!

Dragons come to Lake Lure, NC
April 22nd, 2009 11:12 AM

Who would have thought that you could still find dragons and in Lake Lure yet?  Well, the dragons are coming on May 16th.

Lure of the Dragons is a boat race for non-profit children's charities in the area.  This is it's second year and is dedicated to improving the quality of life and future for our children.

Dragon boat racing is a sport for both young and old.  It is similar to paddling a canoe, but 10 people paddle while one teamate is beating out a cadence on the dragon drum.

Along with the race, a cultural festival celebrating Asian-American and Southern cultures wth music, dance, food, craft and more will be held at the Lake Lure town park.  This event is free for spectators.  So come and join in on the fun.

For more information on this great and exciting event go to: www.lureofthedragons.org

Once you visit Lake Lure, NC you will see why so many people fall in love with it.  If you'd like to find out more about available real estate, please Karen Samborski at 828-447-0147.
